Can I Visit Your Hometown?

A few weeks ago I asked readers of this blog about how friendly/unfriendly your town is to the differently biotic. Now I have a new question to ask you, if you could help me out.

I'm starting to plan a trip across, and I'm looking for places to visit, the idea being that I would write about the places I visit and then post the writings on the blog. I'm looking to visit two kinds of places specifically:

1. Places that are very hospitable to zombies

2. Places that are very hostile to zombies.

If you would like me to visit your town, please post a comment to this blog with the following:

A. Your town and state
B. Whether your town is friendly or hostile to zombies
C. Why you think your town is friendly/hostile to zombies

I'd appreciate it. Phoebe and Karen are bugging me to do this as a contest or something, so if your town is picked for a visit we may end up sending you something for your trouble.

A. New Orleans, Louisiana.

B. I think it's hospitable.

C. Because we have a lot of different people down here, people down here seem more...accepting of different people, I guarantee my friends and I would LOVE to see you (We'd be really nice, promise), and also, I haven't heard of a single attack on zombies in my area.

:D

Hey Tommy, I think you should come to Casey, IL. We are very hospitable to zombies. However, like any other town, we have a few people who don't find it quite right. But the majority of the town welcomes Zombies and treats them as if they were any other human. I'm sure everyone here would love it if you made a visit here. Thanks!

Hey Tommy!
Hope you´re doing great!
Well, you can visit Mexico!
I live in Guadalajara,Jalisco
And I this town is friendly and hostile to zombies, because, here in Mexico we like death.
People go everyday to a graveyard here called "Panteón de Belén" and there, people are fascinated with all ghost things. Here, there´s a special day called "Día de Muertos" and they celebrate death, actually, and they like zombies because they like death, and they are fascinated, here, death is like...how can I say it...like a joke, they like to do dances and all that stuff, so here, they don´t mind zombies at all. I know a lot of zombies because my BFF Yishai is a zombie, and she is alive for everybody, and she hangs out with zombies here, and all zombies are really happy living here.
I think you should visit here and see it yourself.
If you come, you can stay in my house, you can invite all the zombies, and Phoebe and Margi too.It would be so fun.
:)
Please?
Haha!

Bye!
Love ya´!
xoxo

Hey Tommy. Sure I'm just now again after years posting a comment and trying to find the right words for a ppst of my own, but I really think Leesburg/Albany, Georgia would be an awesome place to come. I honestly believe my town would be friendly to zombie, and if for some reason I'm wrong I'm sorry. But from the 20 years I've been here it just seems a place everyone can get along. We have beautiful scenery here. Favorite place to go over all though is to Turtle Grove Park. It's quite stunnign out there specially in the evening time Walking along the set out paths and then there's actually "Big" swings for couples to have a seat on and cuddle or whatever they feel the need to do. I'm absolutely sure If you were to come here and see for yourself you would feel the same as I about it. ^.^ It's my favorite place here. I really think you should come here. It's Awesome!

A. Newbury Park, California

B. I think that it's friendly, but there are porbably a few who think otherwise...

C. Well, there aren't any zombies around here at the moment, but I have hopes that if they come, my town would be welcoming.
Hey, if you come here and need a place to stay, my house is always open :) My family, friends, and I would be very happy to see you!

Hey there, Tommy. So nice to post a comment on your blog. I've been reading for a while and just made my own account.

I think you should come to Honolulu, Hawaii. I think it's pretty hospitable. Everyone here is different from each other; and I'm talking about races, appearances, styles. Everything. People here are really accepting, even if they don't seem that way. That's what I've learned.

The Book Girl said...

A. Liverpool, NY
B. Relatively friendly
C. In Liverpool, there are people who are very supportive of all groups and people who are somewhat unsupportive of all groups, although the latter never really do anything about it. I know there would be a lot of people who would be really interested in meeting you!

The Book Girl said...

Alright, little change in city. Since Liverpool isn't on the map I'm thinking saying Syracuse would be better. Really anywhere in central NY... I believe most of us are similar.

B: I think Its hospitable.

Here, everyone kinda minds their own business, and I have a lot of friends that would love it if you came to visit. Not to mention, we do have a couple DB kids at my high school and I haven't heard of anyone mistreating them.

So maybe you could come here?

Evernight87 said...

A.) Manteca, California

B.) Hostial

C.) We have a lot of older people here who have small minds and are not open for change, but maybe you can change that, maybe. Lets see the people are not really nice, lots of stuck up people and the wanna be gangster kids. Really does not sound like a great place to live. We have a very low crime rate here, so i thinks that why poeple like to live here. It is also in the middle of everything. The beach is just 2 hours away and same with the wilderness and the big cities. So alothough where i live is not hospitable to DB you should still visit well because you said you wanted to also visit the hostil areas.

I'm sure they would welcome the differently biotic in the same way, since as far as I can tell there are none here yet.

I agree with Dia, come to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm in a nearby town, but Ottawa's somewhat friendly to zombies, because I think I know a few living there in town. They are somehat ingnored and somehat blenders. But there's not many, so letting zombies know that Ottawa's good would be appreciated. If you do come to Ottawa, you have to let me know the date though please.

I hear a lot of talk about how the dead can't even get a library card. That's definitely not the case here. We even have programs which benefit the differently biotic.

Tommy, I hope you come to McKinney, Texas. I'm quite sure how hospitable it is toward zombies. I actually think it's a little anti-zombie based on what people say when I mention zombies at school. The whole dumb 'zombies eat brains' thing. Ugh. There are a few zombie supporters down here which is good, but I think it's mostly hostile.

I hope you can come visit anyways. It would be superbly awesomely fantastic if you did.

Sorry Tommy *flaps hand* The town I live in (Prescott,AZ) isn't such a good place to visit, there's not many zombies there, and the only ones I've seen are the two that go to my high school. They have to eat in the library at lunch, since everyone makes fun of them...they even throw deodorant at them...I'm like hello, just because they've died once doesn't mean they stink >.< it's not like they're decomposing or anything,...I wonder were they even get all of it, the teachers don't try to help much either...but I always go out of my way to smile at them.

A. Denver, Colorado

B. I feel it would be very hospitable.

C. In Denver, it's a large city with many different types of people, including quite a night life and a lot of alternative lifestyles. Here the "zombies" may be considered more of an eccentricity than a sin, atrocity, or the like that many smaller and religious locations might think of them as. It may be much easier to blend in. And in Denver, most people tend to be from other areas anyway, far less are natives, so many people have not grown up here and I feel that as such it is an easier place to adjust to. And many schools have easier enrollment and many programs, so I would not be surprised to find a differently biotic program nearby. Please consider Denver, and if you do I wish you the best in finding it to your liking.

A. Coronado, California

B. I THINK it's hospitable (sorry if I spelled things wrong...)

C. I put the 'I THINK' because I'm not really sure. It could be. I'm pretty new here as it is, so I can't be positive if the people here would be pro-zombie, or totally against the idea.
I think the other girls at my school would probably pass out if they ever saw a zombie. The guys would think that the girls passing out was hilarious for some reason.
And then there would be those 'kids' like me. The ones who are open minded about EVERYTHING. (When I say that, I don't mean it lightly.) So, I think that things would be fine if you visited here. I would really like to meet you anyways. I admire your strength of everything that you do.
So, if you get the time. Give Coronado a visit, please!

In Harford, Maryland, a lot of the people would be very excited for a visit. They're pretty friendly, but some of the really old people don't agree. Sometimes, elders can be very stubborn...
But the adults and younger teens pretty much don't care either way. Some people would be completely psyched, in a good way. Others would probably have no opinion, but we're all pretty accepting.

I'd also have to agree with Kelly about Holton, Michigan. I grew up in Niles, a very small city, and people were very firm the the way that they were raised, including prejudices and discriminations. Hello Tommy!

I think that depending on where you go, it is both hostile and hospitible. :/

There is a lot of gang violence with hateful, hateful people in our area and so hateful people would make it hostile towards differently biotic kids. Port Orchard is way awesome to come to, though. There are ferries to take and Seattle is right across the water. The Coffee Capital. :]

C. Downtown is because they have a wide vairity of different people. They can be very understanding. You can go up to a random hobo and rant and they'll hug you.
Uptown is because you are either the minority of different people or you are the majority of the people who are all pretty much..... clones. B. I believe my town is hospitable towards zombies.

C. My hometown is tiny. Everyone knows everyone. Our community is very tight knit. We believe that nothing changes about a person when they die then come back. We love the few zombies that live here just as much as we did when they were alive, just like it should be. We believe that a person is a person - no matter what. The community as a whole feels that we all deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Also, we have never had any instances of zombie violence (toward zombies and by zombies.) Zombie students are fully intregrated into our school - Robert L. Craig School grades preK to 8 - and are given the same chances as trad students to have very happy futures. A visit from you would make our town so happy. You are an inspiration to zombies and trads alike. You teach us all that such acceptance CAN happen every where. Maybe one day the love that envelopes our small community can be felt no matter where you travel and no matter what state of being you are.

How are you, Tommy? I'm doing okay, in terms of being dead. Okay, I think you should come to my town. It's called Skokie and it's a few minutes away from Chicago, Illinois. Many people here are used to zombies. I estimate there to be maybe twelve zombies living here, including me. They're all my friends. Well, everyone but Henry is nice. He's still angry about coming back to life after trying to kill himself. I think this town is great to come to because my community is hospitable to zombies. We even have a small housing where zombies can stay. I stay there in room 214. It's very nice and we can go into the woods out back. The only problem is that there's a lady who lives here. Her name is Penny, and she's crazy. I guess she doesn't really like the undead because she tried to kill my friend, Mazzie. Not a fun experience. Well, that's about all for now. Talk to you later, T!

With my town it could go either way. Most people, encluding people who have read this books and Twilight teens, would be very open to the idea. Unlike some of the parental figures whomight not thin it's such a great idea. Figures.

A. Houston, TX

B. I think it's quite hospitable towards Diff bios

C. I think Houston's hospitable because Houston has many different people from around the world who come here because they have ties to the oil industry, etc. I also go to an international school in Houston (Awty International School, look it up!), and in my grade, which only has like 80 something people, I have people from all over the world. There's no one who REALLY hates anyone else either, so it's quite nice. Come by some time! You'll be welcome with open arms at my school! :)

Innocuously Bereft of Life said...

A. Houston, TX

B. It's very hospitable

C. It's hospitable because we have many people of different nationalities that come to Houston for work (such as medicine or oil business), and we are home to one of the few International schools in all of the US of A. Yep, and I go there. It's called "Awty International School" (look it up!). It's a pretty small school with less than a hundred people per grade, and everyone actually GETS ALONG WITH EACH OTHER. The school would probably welcome you and your band of diff bios with open arms, letting you talk to us or something! We're all nice and stuff, so come on by some time! :)

hey, why don't you come to Calgary,Alberta,Canada. i know it is not in the states but i do think people will be nice enough to you. well, honestly not many people believe in zombies and teens coming back from the dead but hey why not. if they don't believe then they wont be hostile and who's up for a little adventure. that would definitly show them who was right. a lot of people are accepted into the community. so come on down ya'all.
