Happy Mother's Day

Today I just want to take a moment to say thank you to my mother, Faith Williams, for everything she does to support me. I am so, so fortunate to have a mother like Faith, who has stood by me through my death and everything else.

I'm especially thankful because many zombies are disowned by their parents, not allowed to return to their homes or, worse, driven from them. If anything, my death and the death of my father has brought us closer together. Faith is always there for me and I know she always will be.

I love you, Mom.

Goodness... I don't know what I would do if my parents threw me out. I'm one of the lucky ones... it's good to know that there are others. And hopefully, with time, more parents will accept their children back...

Faith, you are a wonderful woman. :) Keep fighting the good fight!

Tommy - I hope you are a perfect gentleman to your mother, always. ;)

mothers day...interesting. never thought stuff like that would matter after youve died. but u guess that in your case it just makes it that much more important. i dont know if anything would be very important to me if our situations were reversed, having been sort of denied heaven would make me a little cynical(or is it sinical?) even more so than i already am. too much to say on that subject.

I imagine having your kid die and then un-die has got to be trying if not outright freaky-feeling. Sounds like your mom is a lot like my dad though (I'm not DB, but I have a feeling he'd be OK with it, as he's an uncommonly nuturing guy and loves me to pieces), and that is so great that you at least have that kind of support in your life. I've heard a lot about DB kids who weren't so lucky. :(

I can't imagine why it's still legal for everybody to abandon DB kids, while social services doesn't even bother stepping in. I don't care if they have death certificates, aren't they still conscious? You'd think they'd treat DB kids like coma patients or something, in need of care so they can recover, but apparently the nature of being DB just really freaks too many people out for the politicians to bother just about anywhere, even on the local level. Very frustrating. Doesn't seem right to me at all.

Hey, just occured to me: marriage laws are often decided at the state level in the U.S., and technically so are things like the drinking age - do you suppose laws regarding what constitutes a legal "death" do too? If so, it may easier to work from the state levels first, with a "if they show signs of conciousness, then they're still not legally dead for the purposes of citizenship" type law.

Interesting theories, Jamie--we need you to go work in Washington.

i really think its horrible people would just through out their kids like that. who cares if your 'dead' ..

okay, anyone who throws their kids away, dead or alive, obviously doesn't love them. It's just like abandoning a living child; soon, some zombies will cause some serious trouble and i dont think thats a good idea. I'm not saying that Collette will cause any trouble, but whose to say nobody else will?
