Zombies in the Mall

Went to the mall this weekend with Margi and Phoebe to do some holiday shopping. I wore a heaving coat, big scarf and big ski hat so that no one would see I was a zombie, not because I'm ashamed of who I am but because I really didn't anyone hassling the girls. I picked up a few presents for my Mom.

As we were walking around, Phoebe had the great idea of having a bunch of us chip in on little presents for the Haunted House gang, but we really didn't see anything that jumped out (we did see some plastic glow in the dark zombies, but they were really zombified, old school zombies and I don't think most of the kids would appreciate the irony).

We need some ideas. Were thinking small and relatively inexpensive. Can any of you help?

duh, make your own!
affordable and you can personalize them.
my brothers cub scout den made some really cool snowman candleholders out of votives sharpie and metal screens.
or you could make santa ornaments out of tongue depressors.
whatever.
btw, you should totally set up a christmas tree at the haunted house!!! spread the joy! happy holidays!

well if you want some suggestions get them some CD's that they won't argue so much or maybe for the girls some make up or something like that!

You could always try and make something. That's what I always do for my friends, and that way it's more personal than going out and buying something. But make sure, the gifts do apply to the ones you are giving it to. Cd's are always a good option.

Give Tak your cat... maybe that will cheer HIM up. And for the others... maybe you could get them ... WEBKINZ! You know, those stuffed animal toys with the computer codes. You wouldn't really need them to go on the site, but the dolls would work! Then ask Pheebs to rock-ify them. Give em' Van Halen t-shirts!

Or make them.. VOODOO DOLLS OF THEMSELVES! That would work! Stick it to those people who still might believe that voodoo thing.

CD's always work too though...

You could decorate the house and get everyone into the spirit of the holidays.
Then when you got them little things like cards you made or photo albums of the house, they would enjoy them even more!

hmmm... you should give them something home made and if you cant then you should get them some music they all like so they stop fighting

you could get necklaces and braclets. or u could just take them somewhere like to the movies or the park. or u could just make something from the heart (sorry if that remark was offencive)

I really like the picture of all of you in front of the haunted house witha frame that says "family" idea. sweet simple and inexpensive and has a great value to everyone. or you can make everyone stockings and just put like little trinkets and things of that nature in them.

Anonymous said...

Buy them...supplies...to get...creative with.

You could buy some new CD's for their never-ending music session. And you could buy the DB tattoo artist something to practice on. God knows that he'll run out of room on his own body soon.

holiday shopping is always a challenge! recently i made some of my friends yarn dolls that looked like them (of course, they were all girls. guys obviously prefer action figures) and they turned out pretty good. Everyone appreciates the effort of a homemade gift, even if it does turn out not as planned. And most of the time they are less costly.

Even so, it's the thought that really counts!

(also, don't be going into any banks dressed like that!! even if it is cold.)

The girls will love mini tote bags to hold and organize items in their purse.

Hey, I'm not sure...but i know that everyone feels liked and special when they get a card especially if you put effort into making one. Or...or, or you could make'em...FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS! ^_^
I just raised money for the Humane Society by selling Friendship Bracelets..you make them with embroidery thread in tight knots and they turn out to make a cool design diagonal stripes (especially when the colours you pick have contrast or slight different shades). Hope that helps a bit :)

Lots of Love,
Nat

how about if the haunted house gang do Secret Santa's? That way they can do whatever they want for gifts^^

I think the idea for the family photo thing is really nice, so everyone can feel part of that horde :P Or maybe you could get the same braclet for everyone, or the kind of thing you'd get as part of a club. Oooh!! :O or how about some cheap disco lights for the hall! That'd be aweesome!! Happy christmas :)

me and my friends always give each other broken CDs that we customize, last year i got a My Chemical Romance CD with my name grafidied on it. I gave my two best friends two halfes of my broken p!nk Cd with their names and half of mine on each. happy holidys every one! <3

I don't know if this would work, but my friend always makes mix music for her friends for Christmas. It could work, since you metioned everyone in the house listening to different types of music. Or you can draw something, that's what I always do. ^^;

hi,tommy i think the answer ur looking for is too ask them what they want. So u don't get any thing they don't.

Hi Tommy you could always make them personlized CDs. Have all the types of music each person likes and decorate the case to mach the persons persinality.

P.S. You can give Tak your cat.

Hi Tommy i can understand why you eould not want to make a it hard for the girls when you were shoping. I have to stay out of the sun light in publick or eveeryone would know what i am.

Cds are always a good gift. If you're thinking cheaper, bubbles are fun. Well...idk if zombies like bubbles...I'd say candy but..you know...

As a last resort, you might try asking each of them what they want. Hope to have help. Merry Christmas to you and the others!

The others don't dance much right? Anyway, you should buy them concert tickets. People wouldn't care how they look if all they're doing is bobbing their heads and things like that. Everyone could love it, and if they don't at least they're getting out more.

Thewse are fantastic suggestions, and if you read my post today you'll see we actually have some money to work with. Art supplies will definitely be bought.

Keep the ideas coming--I will post what our final purchases are in a few days.

Thanks,
T.

hey tommy here is an idea you could have a chrismas party and have everyone draw names out of a hat and whosevere name they draw they can get a present for

Anonymous said...

Hey, I know I haven't posted here before but I have a simple idea, it's totally free and you only need yourself for it. You can give hugs. Hugs are free, and who doesn't like a hug? It may make some people feel better if they're having a bad day.

It would be cool to go to Wild Thingz! and get everyone a TShirt or some Z perfume. Or make some new CD mixes for parties and stuff. Say Hi! to Phoebe and Margi for me! :)
ByeBye

The greatest gift is one from the heart. Remember, it's the thought that counts. I'm sure the DB's (I'm sorry, I don't feel comfortable saying "zombies") will be happy with anything. Try like something that will be valuable to the entire group. Like an oath that you all sign or a photo and frame that you all can sign. It's the best way to stick together. And, if all else fails go check out the $1 section at Target.

I'm thinking CD's would be cool. And everyone at the house enjoys music, so it seems like a good idea to me.
