A few weeks ago in my blog about zombie creation theory ( Stupid Theory of the Day, here). I made a comment about eating microwaved brains. Based on the amount of email I received, and the amount of hassle I received from friend and foe alike, I thought I should write.
I apologize if the “brains” comment offended you. It was just a joke. Yes, I realize that it could be interpreted as perpetuating a negative zombie stereotype. Oh excuuuuse me, a negative living impaired stereotype. I did not mean to offend anyone, least of all my fellow undead brothers and sisters. Well, maybe I did mean to offend someone, namely the “scientists” that seem to be more interested in getting money and publicity than they do in actually helping undead Americans.
But really, people—I think we need to work on developing our sense of humor as much as we work on trying to learn how to talk and walk again. I know what we all go through on a daily basis just trying to exist in a country that for the most part wishes we would just stay dead. I fear that if we lose our sense of humor about our condition, it is only a matter of time before the rest of the country gets their wish.

i just read the whole
"microwaved brains" thing and honestly it made me giggle.
so i agree people need a better sense of humor cause i thought it was pretty funny :]
Giggling is a sign of good humor and intelligence--or total lunacy.
Are you a zombie?
no, im not.
but honestly i find it amazing how you could joke so openly about the fact that you are.
and i also think you have a wonderful sense of humor :]
Without humor, we are lost.
All of us.
that was rellygood. it sounds like its fun being a zombie, at least from my point of view.
I read that blong , and personly i found the microwaved braind thing funny. it gave me my daily smile.
the joke wasnt offensive but it was LAME LAME LAME man!
microwaved brains, classic! That's just totally believable! Your sense of humor, is morbid, yet hilarious! and you shouldn't apologize for offending people about your personal humor, these are your thoughts, its an agreement or disagree, and if people don't like what you think, they can go away... OH! And by the way, how is Adam Layman ;)
whats wrong with microwaved brains?
i showed my friend and she smiled-ish, and i bet if she were still alive she'd be cracking up!!!
Okay, so maybe the joke was lame lame lame.
But it did make me smile-ish.

laughing keeps the world alive, that says something if the zombies can crack a joke.
Well, those scientists have sticks up their butt[s?]. O-o
ha ha, You're funny.
C'est beaucoup. J'aime francais, je l'aime beaucoup.
But I'm a grammar nut to begin with...
i don't know why people got mad at you for that. it was just a joke. but i love thatu apologizeed. it's really sweet of u!
i dont get y ppl get so offended bout the smallest things
im emo n make jokes bout it, y cant sum1 b a zombie n make a joke bout it?
i previously read the Stupid Theory Of The Day blog and I found that the microwaved brains crack was actually funny. I don't see why people should be insulted. You zombies don't even eat, do you? And microwaved brains would be revolting anyway. It was quite obviously a joke and nobody should have look at it from an offensive point of view.
:]
'Tis actually a funny post. i liked it and i think that any living who was offended by it needs to grow some backbone! seriously! 'twas a joke!!!
I have recently started reading your blog, and I love it. We have something in common, I'm 1/3 zombie. :) I know how you feel too, about all the scientist crap. Well I was not offended by your brains comment, it made me laugh actually. :D anyways, check out my blog, i JUST recently posted something about being a zombie, well 1/3 zombie...long story. xD well ttyl BYE
I HATE YOU DEAD PEOPLE!
STOP WALKING AMOUNG US AND GO TO HELL WHERE YOU BELONG!
first of all, i thought the brains joke was pretty funny (and im living) second of all,the anonymous post above me: that is just RUDE!!!! and very very hurtful to the zombies!!!
Made me laugh when I read it. :) What's wrong with joking about the undead situation? I think we should joke about it-it shows that we're not above good jokes just because we're 'undead'.
In one of your comments you posted
'Without humor we are lost'
And for the most part that is very much true, for without humor, all one can turn to is depression. And to give into that depression means to give up all hope. One's will to live is helped by humor. For even those scientists who have no real wish to help you, have a sense of humor.
As for the 'brains' comment/joke. It can sometime be fun to play into a stereotype. I mean, I can't tell you how many "racist" jokes I laugh at, but it's not because I'm "racist" it's because the joke is funny.

P.S. It bothers me how some people get so pissed off when you tell a black joke (or something else playing on one's stereotype) and a black person gets mad at you for either telling it or laughing at it, when it is somewhat clear you aren't "against" their "kind".
I thought the "microwaved brains" was an epicly funny comment ^_^...people just needed something new to hate on the whole lets hate people who are different use is an agae old tradition.......>.< I hate it
Did some living impaired really comment on a joke like such. You'd think there trads, lack of a secence of humor. Come on I'm a trad, my best friend is a demon (not a zombie, a demon, horns and everything). Yeah, come on people lauph when you can, or at least zombie lauph. (And yes that was a joke)
I thought it was funny. Come on, have they heard of a sence of humor?
